Report on the study of tourist traffic in the Mazowieckie Voivodeship in 2015-2017
The Mazovian Regional Planning Office in Warsaw commissioned a study to determine the volume of tourist traffic, as well as its structure and dynamics, in the Mazowieckie Voivodeship. The survey covered entities operating in the tourism industry in general. Quantitative research (CAWI and CATI interviews) and qualitative research (in-depth interviews) were conducted. The result of the above-mentioned research is a picture of tourism as it is perceived by the surveyed entities. The research showed that the perception of tourism traffic by entities operating in the tourism industry is rather average and in their opinion Mazovia is not one of the attractive regions of Poland. The group shaping tourist traffic in Mazovia to the greatest extent was also singled out. It is characterized by the following features: residents of the Mazovian Voivodeship, middle-aged, forming families, enjoying natural attractions and active forms of spending time, spending no more than one day out of their place of residence, but returning to selected places quite regularly. The results of the research are recommendations, the implementation of which is expected to increase the tourist attractiveness of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship by adjusting the offer to the needs of the main group of recipients of tourist services
tourism services as currently diagnosed, as well as broaden the groups of recipients by preparing an offer to new groups of potential customers.
